The Power of Manga: Osamu Tezuka and Shotaro Ishinomori

Dreams, hopes, courage...'the Power of Manga' inspires us in a variety of emotions. Today, manga has developed into an international culture but this position was only achieved through the work of 'the God of Manga', Osamu Tezuka, who broadened the range of its possibilities, and the 'King of Manga', Shotaro Ishinomori, who worked in unison with Tezuka to develop the medium. Their works, which are characterized by endearing images, unique characters and universal themes, continue to attract people to this day.
In an effort to explore the origins of 'The Power of Manga', this exhibition look at the original artwork, videos, etc., of their most famous works, including 'Astro Boy' and 'Black Jack', or 'Cyborg 009' and 'Kamen Rider', and consider the various messages they contain. We will also present works created in homage to these two great manga artists by contemporary celebrities from many fields who were strongly influenced by their work, offering a view of the various approaches that have been taken to the field of manga. This exhibition offers a unique chance to experience 'The Power of Manga' which surpasses time and has transformed the world.
